- Acidic soils
- Sandy or light soils (leaching)
- Acid peat soils
- Soils rich in sodium
- Soils rich in aluminium
- Drought conditions
- Fruit high in nitrogen or potassium
- Large fruit
Calcium is important for
- Root establishment and elongation as well as early crop growth
- Increases plant height and vigor
- Ca helps protect the bulbs against diseases and abiotic stress like chilling or salinity
