Symptoms
Uniform chlorosis allover the foliage. Mature leaves start wilting and show marginal chlorosis with subsequent necrosis spreading over the leaf blade. Finally older shoots become completely scorched. Growth and yield are severely decreased.
Causes
Sulphur deficiency (right)
Plant tissue content is 0.1-0.2% dry weight normally. Even though subtle differences between N and sulphur deficiency symptoms exist (N deficiency occuring first on older, sulphur deficiency symptoms on younger leaves), an exact diagnosis is difficult. Plant analysis is recommended.
